A cool new web trend popping up around the web, parallax scrolling is used for adding depth to a website, and to enhance it’s interactivity. Early examples of parallax scrolling were found in video and arcade games in the 80′s and early 90′s, usually for racing games and side scrolling games on the original Nintendo, like Super Mario Brothers.
Today, designers are using parallax scrolling in many different websites either through using some CSS tricks, or by using the popular JQuery plugin Spritely to create interesting headers or moving backgrounds. It’s a great starting point if you’re new to parallax scrolling, or are looking for something simple to give your site an extra feature.
