Shirt Off My Back (SOMB), is no ordinary clothing company. For every item purchased, they donate a school uniform to a child in Africa, where it’s often “no uniform, no education.” They approached Netplus to establish a social presence and integrate social commerce features into their website. We jumped at the chance to work with such a worthy cause.
We established a central location for fans of the brand to easily find and interact with all of SOMB’s social channels to spread the word. Digital word of mouth was key and the “Get Involved” page was born. Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube channels were seamlessly launched. We included multiple key ways to share across social networks and email, making the Get Involved page a centralized hub where fans could view and share the latest social stream activities, from tweets to new Flickr photos.
Great photo and video content as well as celebrity relationships primed the social accounts. We even coached Snoop Dogg and Britney Spears on writing share-friendly copy for Twitter, maximizing exposure for SOMB among their own massive followings. Rewarding work. Great cause.
